"While Blitzkrieg Express is fun in small doses, its repetitive mission structure and unrewarding progression make it difficult to recommend in a genre full of better games."

When I first started playing Blitzkrieg Express, I was hopeful that it would prove to be a fun diversion, the gameplay was simple and fun, loot flowed easily, and upgrades came swiftly.
Unfortunately, by the time I reached level 13, I had begun to notice just how little creativity and originality was in each mission, and by the time I reached levels 40 and 50, I felt like I had literally been doing the same thing for the past 6 hours.
After a few hours every mission blurred together, I had not received meaningful loot upgrades in hours, while being continually offered equal or lesser versions of my current gear, all the while I went for over 90 levels before being able to create a pair of epic level boots, despite having upgraded every other slot to maxed out epic items hours before.
In my 12 hours and 100+ levels of play I did not encounter a gold tier item or above, with the only assured gold quality item being an achievement reward that would require me to destroy 10k carriages, which is frankly absurd, as by level 100 I had only destroyed 3.9k.
After spending 12 hours to reach lvl 100, there was no way I would spend another 12-15 hours repeating near identical missions for level 1 grey and green quality loot that was vastly inferior to the loot I had been using since around level 40, for a single guaranteed tier 4 item that would have virtually no impact on gameplay, considering with very very few exceptions, levels had not become meaningfully more difficult since around level 20, with level 12 being considerably more difficult (due to my low level gear) than level 100 which I beat first try, while doing something else IRL.
Blitzkrieg Express allows players to progress in 2 ways, one of which is spending gold on upgrades and the second is upgrading gear with blueprints and gold.
Unfortunately loot is highly RNG, and getting the number of matching identical items to trigger a merge/upgrade can take a vast amount of time, and in my case it took me until level 90+ before I was able to get enough boots of the correct quality/stat type to craft my first pair of epic (tier 3) shoes, despite the rest of my loadout having been epic for around 50 or so levels.
Loot RNG aside, the upgrade tree is frankly overpriced, and unrewarding, with many upgrades offering only a 0.5% stat increase, while costing as much if not more gold than a successful run.
Because of this, it feels meaningless, considering the vast majority of my power came from my equipped items, which already saw me beating most mid and late game levels first try, and in some cases having enough firepower to demolish trains long before they even reached the halfway point of the map.
While there are several different locations and track layouts, over time you see so many near identical combinations of rock and track that they blur together, in a sludgy grey mess.
Repetition aside, the visuals are not pretty, and while I am not 100% sure they are low quality asset store models, at first glance they certainly appear to be.

Blitzkrieg Express is unrated and contains no offensive content.
I really tried to like Blitzkrieg Express, I put in over 12 hours playing near identical missions to reach level 100 in hope things would get harder/more interesting afterwards, but unfortunately that was not the case.
Ultimately a decently fun time waster, but with no real sense of increasing difficulty or meaningful progression, and a convoluted and RNG dependent upgrade system, I cannot recommend Blitzkrieg Express over other similarly priced games in the genre, which are for the most part, all substantially more enjoyable and far less repetitious.
We found Blitzkrieg Express to be a mediocre game, meaning that while it has some redeeming qualities, it's held back by noticeable flaws that prevent it from being truly enjoyable.
"Vampire Survivors, often copied and never beaten, proves that excellent gameplay and affordable pricing will win out over poor gameplay and excellent visuals any day of the week."
"Halls of Torment is one of just a few unique titles in a genre dominated by Vampire Survivors and its many clones."

"While Mercenaries Of The Kingdom: First Blood is at the start of its early access journey, it is off to a great start."
