Review: Etherlords 1 & 2 PC

Etherlords A Sad Story.

Etherlords is a great game with mechanics that hold up even today, very reminiscent of the current trend of pet/monster battlers. It has one major problem.

It doesn’t work out of the box, it took me roughly 20 minutes of trying various fixes to get it running on my AMD card, and honestly, most people wouldn’t have put up with that wait, it would have been an instant refund if I hadn’t bought it as part … Read Full Article “Review: Etherlords 1 & 2”

Review: Warcraft 3 Reforged – Well that’s embarrassing PC

Second-hand embarrassment is as vivid and at times cringy as experiencing it yourself, and the launch of Warcraft 3 reforged has plenty of second-hand embarrassment to go around.

Who should be embarrassed?

Wait you think I mean Blizzard should be embarrassed? No, I refer to the Reddit hivemind once again showing itself to be immature, entitled, infantile and suffering from a very diverse and serious range of emotional disorders.

The review bombing campaign of Warcraft 3 Reforged shows exactly why … Read Full Article “Review: Warcraft 3 Reforged – Well that’s embarrassing”

Review: Starbound: Lost in Space Vibes Galore. PC

I will now proceed to bore you all with a story about my childhood, I loved Lost in Space, the campy, cheesy and at times ridiculous tv show that was already dated when my parents enjoyed it as teens, the worlds and creatures encountered by the Robinson Family were bizarre at best, ludicrous at worst, and yet it was this element of the absurd that made the show so much fun to watch, its that absurd element that makes Starboard … Read Full Article “Review: Starbound: Lost in Space Vibes Galore.”

Review: A Second Look at Raft PC

Raft is not a game for everyone, and while being firmly seated in the survival genre, it is a far more casual affair than the kings of the genre such as Ark Survival Evolved, Conan Exiles and Rust.
However casual doesn’t mean its easy. In some aspects, I found the kings much easier.

A Strange Choice of Pallete.

The colour palette used by Raft seems out of place for PC title, it’s very much the style utilised by Nintendo, a … Read Full Article “Review: A Second Look at Raft”

Review: Chasm – Wonderful, but not without Flaws. PC

Chasm is a fantastic Metroidvania with a gorgeous 8-bit art style. However, default keybindings feel terrible and should have stuck to the tried and true WASD.

You can rebind them to your prefered layout, however.

My Biggest Issue.

Controller support is haphazard at best, and my Dual Shock 4 controller was barely recognised by the game, button inputs would be entirely ignored, and directional controls were sporadic at best, trying to even walk down a ladder was near impossible.

My … Read Full Article “Review: Chasm – Wonderful, but not without Flaws.”

Review: Overcooked 2 – Feels Kinda Sad Alone PS4

Overcooked 2 is a humour-filled take on the co-operative cooking sub-genre, the gameplay is fresh and crisp as a spring salad; however, playing the game alone leaves you feeling empty.

It Feels Like a Mario Party 10 Mini-game.

The graphical style, control scheme and even camera angle all feel like those employed by later Mario party games for their cooking mini-games, and while those mini-games were a lot of fun, I honestly wouldn’t want to play an entire game based … Read Full Article “Review: Overcooked 2 – Feels Kinda Sad Alone”
