Review: Is Ultra Bonk Survivors Worth Playing?

Ultra Bonk Survivors is a near exact copy of an existing title by another developer (Mega Bonk), and for that reason I cannot recommend it

Game Overview.

Product Details
Genre: Action Rogue-like
Developer: Nostra Games
Publisher: Nostra Games
Release Date: 12 March 2026

Carbon Copy.

There is nothing wrong with a developer being inspired by the work of other developers, but Ultra Bonk Survivors is far more than inspired by viral sensation Mega Bonk. While there are a few visual and mechanical differences, the game is so similar, that after spending some time with both, I can safely say that Ultra Bonk Survivors feels like a less polished version of Mega Bonk.

Delisted From PSN.

Ultra Bonk Survivors was delisted from PlayStation Network in March 2026, alongside the rest of the publisher’s catalogue as part of the platform’s efforts to remove low quality titles known as “shovelware” from the platform.

The Golden Rule.

Nostra Games has a long track record of making “off brand versions” of popular titles, and while it may not be illegal, I personally feel it borders on unethical, especially when your titles could be easily mistaken for the real article, and when your title is often of dubious quality.

No one deserves to have their work copied to this degree, and no one would want to see their work copied in this manner, so for all those engaging in this practice I remind them of the “golden rule” in which Jesus warns people to treat others in the same way they would like to be treated.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. - Matthew 7:12

Wait Is That All?

This is admittedly an ultra short review for us, as frankly I do not wish to give advertisement to a game that so blatantly attempts to cash in on the success of another indie title, especially when there are so many better options on the market.

Many of which we have covered previously ↪ as part of our robust coverage of the Action Rogue-like/Vampire Survivors-clone sub-genre.

Final Verdict.

I cannot recommend Ultra Bonk Survivors, any more than I could recommend a title called “Super Barrio Brothers” about Spanish plumbers trying to rescue Princess Plum.

Inspiration is fine, however Ultra Bonk Survivors’ relationship with Mega Bonk goes far beyond inspiration, and for that reason I award it our lowest possible score of 1/10.
